Avoiding the risk of aviation fuel contamination
The number one priority for aviation fuel storage is to avoid contamination. By law any part of the tank that could come into contact with the fuel must be stainless steel so that there is no danger of rust. Our aviation tanks have a 100% stainless steel inner tank and all fittings are also made of stainless steel. This not only meets all safety requirements and is very long lasting, but also gives you complete peace of mind on the operational integrity of the tank overall.
Hassle-free Baffles
Some manufacturers use baffles as part of the structural integrity of the tank construction or to keep fuel stable should the tank be moved with fuel inside. However, with aviation fuel tanks, baffles can act as collection points for water condensation – something best avoided.
We’ve found customers have a greater need for tank mobility with smaller tanks, and that sometimes means moving a tank full of fuel. Our Bloc aviation fuel tanks are constructed with internal baffles as they help restrict the movement (sloshing) of fuel when a tank is being moved.
However, our baffles have been designed to ensure the free flow of water and particulates along the bottom of the tank floor. Combine that with a sloping floor design and you get a free drainage floor pan down to a single drainage point. This helps with the safe removal of water or contaimments from aviation fuel as part of your daily maintenance program.
